Spreading Joy and Mental Health Awareness at the Hilliard Trunk or Treat

As the autumn leaves fall and Halloween draws near, communities across the country prepare for festive gatherings, spooky celebrations, and the delightful tradition of trick-or-treating. In Hilliard, Ohio, one event that families eagerly anticipate each year is the Movement Church's annual Hilliard Trunk or Treat, in partnership with the Ray Patch YMCA. This event took place today, Sunday, October 29th, from 5-7 pm at the Hilliard Ray Patch YMCA. This event is a safe and enjoyable experience for young children to embrace the Halloween spirit. What's more, Kaela Rae Vance LPCCS, a dedicated advocate for mental health awareness, adding her unique touch to the festivities this weekend!

A Safe Halloween Haven

The Hilliard Trunk or Treat event provided a secure environment where young kids were able to dress up in their favorite costumes, have fun, and collect a bounty of candy. Participating vehicles backed into parking spots and offered candy from their trunks, allowing children to complete their trick-or-treat adventure in a quick and safe manner. It was a wonderful opportunity for families to create lasting memories and enjoy the thrill of Halloween in a protected setting.

More than Just Candy

But the fun doesn't stop at candy collecting. The event also featured an array of exciting attractions, including food trucks, music courtesy of 104.9 The River, and the presence of local heroes from the Hilliard Police Department and Norwich Fire Department.

Mental Health Awareness Takes Center Stage

One exceptional participant at this year's Trunk or Treat was Kaela Rae Vance LPCCS, who is on a mission to promote mental health awareness within the community this Halloween season!

Kaela believes that mental health is a topic that should be discussed openly and without stigma. At the Hilliard Trunk or Treat event, Kaela set up a booth where she handed our toys and her business cards.

By incorporating mental health awareness into a beloved community event like Trunk or Treat, Kaela's hope was to reach a wide audience and break down the barriers that often prevent people from seeking help for their mental health challenges. She firmly believes that by fostering a culture of understanding and support, we can make a positive impact on the well-being of individuals and families in Hilliard.

Make a Difference

In a world where the importance of mental health cannot be overstated, Kaela's dedication to promoting awareness and support is a shining example of how one individual can positively impact an entire community. Let's come together, enjoy Halloween, and help spread the message that mental health matters.
